Iraq Aims for Regional Stability and Development through EU Cooperation


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi met with Adam Jansen, the Charg© d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation to Iraq, to discuss strengthening cooperation and partnership relations between Iraq and the EU.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place in the presence of Ralf Schroeder, Head of the Advisory Mission in Iraq. Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation at all levels between Iraq and the EU. Al-Aboudi emphasized Iraq’s aspiration for calm and peace in the region, aiming to build trust among countries to promote development and mutual interests.



Al-Aboudi further affirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to economic development, state control over arms, and security consolidation. Jansen expressed the EU’s support for Iraq’s ministerial program for security sector reform and the National Security Strategy, aiming to achieve stability and security in partnership with the EU Delegation to Iraq.
