Tehran: The Iranian Foreign Ministry has announced it will not permit passage through the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz as long as the current war persists. This decision underscores the geopolitical tensions impacting one of the world’s critical maritime chokepoints.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that any reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is dependent on specific conditions set by Iran. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei emphasized during a press conference that the closure will remain in effect while the conflict continues. He urged regional countries to focus on enhancing relations, building trust, and ensuring security, rather than becoming platforms for aggression against Iran.
