Bab al-mandab strait: The Yemeni Ministry of Transport announced that four crew members of a small cargo ship were killed in an attack launched by the Houthi group in the Bab al-Mandab Strait on Tuesday. Meanwhile, sources reported that a missile targeted a container ship off the coast of Pakistan in an attack suspected to have been carried out by the United States.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, if the deaths of these crew members on board the ship (Tihama), owned by Egyptian companies, are confirmed, they would be the first fatalities in a Houthi attack on ships since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28.
The Houthis have not claimed responsibility for the attack, leaving questions about the motives and implications of this incident unanswered.
