Technical Alert Issued in Najaf Al-Ashraf as Pilgrims Gather for the Prophet’s Death Anniversary


Najaf al-ashraf: The Ministry of Electricity announced on Tuesday that it has mobilized its staff in Najaf Governorate in conjunction with the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) death.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated, “In implementation of the directives of the Minister of Electricity, Ali Saadi Wahib, the Ministry of Electricity has raised the level of technical readiness in Najaf Governorate and deployed its engineering and technical staff to various vital locations to take the necessary proactive measures to enhance the readiness of the electrical grid and secure the requirements of the pilgrimage, coinciding with the influx of pilgrims commemorating the death of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).”



The statement added, “Ministry staff continue their intensive field deployment in the Old City and along the roads leading to the shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), to monitor loads and grid performance around the clock, respond immediately to emergency outages, and enhance the readiness of feeders, stations, and electrical equipment.”



It also noted that “engineering and technical staff have doubled their efforts in maintaining and rehabilitating the grid and lighting systems, addressing bottlenecks, improving feeder efficiency, and implementing the necessary technical solutions to accommodate the additional loads during the pilgrimage.”



She affirmed that “her staff are working around the clock, with high technical and field readiness, and in coordination with relevant authorities, to secure the electrical requirements for the pilgrimage and to serve the pilgrims and residents of the province.”
