Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Shiite Shrines, Ali Sahib Jabr, engaged in discussions with Finance Minister Falih Talsari to explore avenues for augmenting financial allocations aimed at supporting pilgrims and enhancing infrastructure.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the office of the Secretary-General disclosed in a press release that Jabr met with the Finance Minister to deliberate on fiscal matters pertinent to the General Secretariat’s operations. The discussions revolved around increasing financial allocations to align with the Secretariat’s religious and service obligations and the extensive network of shrines under its jurisdiction across various governorates.

Further points of discussion included the requirements for reconstruction and development projects, operational needs, and strategies for prioritizing these elements in future budgets. The dialogue also touched upon identifying suitable financial solutions to address issues that necessitate immediate attention and coordination with the Ministry.

The Finance Minister showed a keen interest in addressing the needs of the General Secretariat, committing to review its files in line with legal and financial protocols. This initiative is aimed at supporting the Secretariat’s plans and enhancing the services offered to pilgrims, while also focusing on developing the infrastructure of the revered Shiite shrines.
