Diyala: The Diyala Health Department announced the seizure and destruction of a shipment of food unfit for human consumption as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor food safety and protect public health.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the department stated in a press release: “Health inspection teams, in cooperation with the National Security Service, seized a vehicle loaded with 17 tons of spoiled poultry and other ingredients emitting foul odors.”

The statement added: “The seized materials were transported to the landfill in the Kanaan district, east of Baquba, the provincial capital, and the shipment was destroyed according to official procedures.”
