Baghdad: Google announced the launch of its latest Pixel smartphones, featuring advanced artificial intelligence capabilities designed to enable AI agents to perform complex daily tasks automatically without requiring constant user input.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the new Pixel 11 Pro includes advanced interactive features, including a backlight that activates when the Gemini AI model processes commands. A new Android feature called Halo, expected to launch later this year, will track the progress of AI agents as they perform tasks.

Google’s head of Android, Sameer Samat, stated in a press release that the company’s vision is to enable users to simply express what they want to accomplish, after which the system will execute their requests automatically. He explained that the main objective is to save users time in their daily lives and reduce their reliance on manually controlling individual applications.

Samat emphasized the development of a system that can manage tasks automatically, giving valuable time back to users rather than requiring constant engagement with their phones. He added that Google’s strategic plans focus on consumer usage over the next three years, with a new tool called Rambler in development for processing and editing speech and preparing it for conversion into high-quality text or emails.

These advancements come amid intensifying competition among major technology companies, as Google, Apple, and OpenAI vie for a leading position in the artificial intelligence ecosystem on smartphones. They also arise amid growing concerns and surveys indicating consumer caution regarding the trust and social impact associated with AI applications.
