Riyadh: Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman affirmed, during his meeting with the Iraqi security delegation on Thursday, that his country will always stand with Iraq to support its security, stability, development, and prosperity.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Saudi Defense Minister quoted him as saying, ‘I met with the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, and we reviewed Saudi-Iraqi relations in the military and defense fields, and discussed regional developments.’

He added, ‘We emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation between our two countries in a way that serves our common interests and achieves the security and stability of the region,’ explaining that ‘Iraq will remain a dear neighbor to us, and we are bound to its government and brotherly people by ties of brotherhood, solidarity, and mutual support.’

He continued, ‘The Kingdom will always stand with Iraq to support its security, stability, development, and prosperity for the benefit of Iraq and its brotherly people.’
