Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi emphasized today, Thursday, the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Switzerland. The Presidential Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “President Nizar Amedi received the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hunn, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, on the occasion of the end of his tenure.”

According to Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the President stressed “the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland and expanding cooperation in various fields, in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly nations.” The President commended “the efforts exerted by Ambassador Hunn in consolidating the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, wishing him success in his future endeavors.”

For his part, the Swiss Ambassador affirmed his country’s commitment to “continuing to develop relations with Iraq and coordinating on issues of mut
ual interest,” praising “the support he received during his time in Iraq.”
