Demonstration in Southern Hilla Demands Provision of Electricity


Hilla: Dozens of citizens demonstrated in the Al-Hamza Al-Gharbi district, south of Hillah, demanding the provision of electricity. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a correspondent reported that dozens of residents of the Al-Hamza Al-Gharbi district staged a demonstration in the district center on Friday evening. The protest took place amidst tight security measures as citizens voiced their demands for a reduction in power outages and the provision of electricity and fuel oil to generator owners.



The correspondent added that the demonstrators expressed their frustration with the ongoing electricity shortages and threatened to block roads if their demands were not met promptly. Residents in the area have been facing frequent power cuts, which have significantly impacted their daily lives and businesses. The demonstrators are urging local authorities to take immediate action to address their concerns and ensure a steady supply of electricity.
