Baghdad: Customs officers at Baghdad International Airport seized contraband from a passenger arriving from Amman, Jordan, on a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Authority of Customs reported that the seizure took place during a routine baggage inspection using an X-ray machine in the arrivals hall. One particular bag raised suspicion, leading to a manual inspection that uncovered empty packaging for nutritional supplements with foreign trademarks and supplies linked to a foreign pharmaceutical company. This discovery was classified as a violation and an act of commercial fraud.

The Authority emphasized that this operation is part of an ongoing effort by the General Authority of Customs to enhance inspection and control measures at border crossings and airports. The objective is to diminish the entry of contraband and combat commercial fraud effectively.
