Baghdad: Interior Ministry said on Friday that its Falcons Intelligence Cell had arrested 446 people wanted under Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, as well as suspects wanted for murder, kidnapping, theft and robbery, during 2026.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Major General Miqdad Miri, head of the ministry’s Media and Relations Department, announced in a statement that the Falcons Intelligence Cell, under the direct supervision of the intelligence deputy minister, had continued to achieve significant security results in tracking down people wanted by the courts.

“The cell’s specialised teams arrested 446 people wanted under Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, in addition to those wanted for murder, kidnapping, theft and robbery,” Miri said. He attributed these results to sustained intelligence and field efforts, including gathering and analysing information, closely monitoring the movements of wanted suspects, and carrying out targeted operations that led to the arrest of individuals accused in serious cases. The suspects have been referred to the competent judicial authorities for legal action.

The achievements highlighted the development of the Falcons Intelligence Cell’s capabilities and the efficiency of its personnel in tracking wanted suspects and uncovering their movements, Miri remarked. He emphasized that accurate and proactive intelligence work has become a key factor in tightening the net around offenders and preventing them from evading justice.

The Interior Ministry pledged to continue pursuing individuals wanted for various crimes, particularly those involving terrorism, murder, kidnapping, theft, and robbery, as well as any offences threatening citizens’ security and public safety. Miri reiterated, “There is no safe haven for anyone attempting to evade justice,” adding that the security forces would persist in their efforts to enhance security and stability and uphold the rule of law.
