Diyala: Diyala Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotic pills and arrested two individuals accused of the attempt.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Diyala Police Command stated in a press release that the seizure of the narcotic pills was carried out in a well-executed operation, under the direct supervision of Police Chief Major General Muhammad Kadhim Atiya. The operation took place at the Sarha checkpoint in the Al-Adhaim district, in cooperation with detachments from the Narcotics Affairs Directorate.

The statement added that during the operation, two individuals were arrested in possession of 2,036 various narcotic pills. The individuals, along with the seized materials, were referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
