Baghdad: The Maysan Governorate Police Command announced the arrest of a suspect involved in a series of robberies targeting citizens in markets, as well as breaking into parked vehicles and stealing their contents.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated: “The force apprehended the suspect in the act in one of the areas of Amarah city center. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing several robberies in various parts of the city center. Investigations revealed that he has a criminal record and has previously been convicted in several similar cases.”

The Command indicated that the necessary legal procedures have been taken against the suspect, and he has been detained in accordance with the law, pending his referral to the judiciary.
