Baghdad: The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA) announced on Sunday the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle more than 800 ancient coins from abroad and the arrest of their possessor.
According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the agency indicated that units from the Baghdad/Rusafa Directorate of Combating Organized Crime were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle more than 800 ancient coins from abroad and arrest their possessor.
The statement further revealed that the accused confessed during interrogation to possessing these items for the purpose of dealing in them outside legal frameworks.
