Minister of Education Unveils New School in Abu Ghraib and Addresses Directorate Needs


Abu ghraib: Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri has taken decisive steps to address ongoing issues within the Abu Ghraib Education Directorate. During a recent field visit that included the Education Department and the inauguration of a new school in the al-Muhandiseen neighborhood, the Minister placed the Directorate’s needs on the agenda for immediate action. Accompanying him were the Director General of Education, the Director of the Department, and the District Governor.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry revealed in a press release that the Minister chaired a meeting to review the current situation of the Directorate, which oversees more than 300 schools and employs approximately 6,000 educational and administrative staff. The meeting focused on discussing the challenges facing the Directorate and its requirement for broader authority and support to match its responsibilities. The Minister instructed that the necessary needs be fulfilled and that issues related to assignment and transfer be resolved.



As part of the Ministry’s Project Number One, the Minister inaugurated a school consisting of 18 classrooms, 4 laboratories, and an administrative wing. This school is the first of several planned school buildings to be opened across various governorates. Coordination with relevant authorities is ongoing to ensure the school is furnished in time for the start of the new academic year.
