Nineveh Awaits Baghdad’s Decision on Establishment of Nineveh Oil Company


Mosul: The head of the Energy Committee in the Nineveh Provincial Council, Ahmed al-Abdrabuh, announced that the council is awaiting a response from the federal government in Baghdad concerning the establishment of the Nineveh Oil Company. This initiative aims to enhance the management and investment of Nineveh’s oil resources.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Abdrabuh emphasized that forming the company is a crucial step towards regulating the local oil sector and bolstering the regional economy. The proposal is currently under consideration by the relevant federal authorities in Baghdad.



Al-Abdrabuh also reached out to specialized investment companies, urging them to prepare and submit their applications for oil and investment projects within Nineveh. Such initiatives, he stated, would significantly contribute to the enhancement of the energy sector in the region.



He further explained that Nineveh holds substantial qualifications and natural resources, which can be effectively utilized within structured development plans. The establishment of the Nineveh Oil Company is seen as a pivotal move in aligning these resources with broader economic objectives.
