Nineveh Court of Appeals Hosts Workshop on Medical Complications and Errors


Mosul: The Nineveh Court of Appeals organized a workshop focusing on medical complications and errors, addressing the legal, administrative, and societal challenges involved.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the workshop received sponsorship and support from Al-Hayat International Hospital and Basma Group. The event was attended by prominent figures including the President of the Court of Appeals, Judge Raed Hamid, several Vice Presidents of the Court of Appeals, judges from the Mosul Misdemeanor Court, judges from the Investigative Court, the Nineveh Public Prosecutor, and a select group of specialists from the legal, medical, security, and administrative fields.



The discussions during the workshop revolved around medical liability from various perspectives. Key topics included the importance of distinguishing between medical complications and medical errors, defining legal frameworks, and outlining the responsibilities of all parties involved in the medical process.



Participants also explored the topic of health insurance and its upcoming implementation in the Nineveh Governorate. The discussions emphasized its crucial role in supporting patients and citizens by facilitating access to comprehensive healthcare services.



This workshop marks a significant step in the ongoing cooperation between the judiciary and health institutions, aimed at exchanging views and addressing issues related to medical liability.
