Karbala: The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities announced on Sunday that the holy city of Karbala has completed all necessary requirements for the one million residential plots project. This makes Karbala the first province to achieve this milestone.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated in a press release that Karbala has finalized all designs and approvals needed for the initiative launched by Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi. The ministry’s Technical Undersecretary, Ali Hussein Abdul Amir, met with the Director of Karbala Municipalities, Qadir Ahmed al-Khattabi, and the Director of Urban Planning, Anwar Sabah Mohammed, to direct the completion of all procedures.
The ministry emphasized the importance of coordination between its General Directorate of Municipalities and the Karbala Governorate. The goal is to ensure that all preparations are in place for the project’s timely launch. Discussions during the meeting focused on the basic designs for the plots and the proposed distribution sites within the holy city.
The successful completion of these preparations signifies a significant step forward in the implementation of the residential initiative, aiming to address housing needs in Karbala.
