Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Adnan Feihan Al-Dulaimi stressed today, Monday, the need to ensure the smooth distribution of ration card items.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the First Deputy Speaker’s Media Office indicated that Adnan Feihan Al-Dulaimi discussed with Minister of Trade Mustafa Al-Ani and Ministry Undersecretary Sattar Al-Jaberi the state of the trade sector and the challenges it faces amid current regional developments and circumstances. The discussion also covered the ministry’s work plans and mechanisms for improving its performance and enhancing the level of services provided to citizens, in a manner that strengthens its role in supporting the national economy and meeting basic needs.

Feihan emphasized the need to expedite the payment of farmers’ and agricultural producers’ dues, given the priority this represents for a broad segment of the population. In addition, he highlighted the importance of ensuring the smooth distribution of ration card items and working to improve their contents, acknowledging their direct impact on supporting low-income households.

He also underscored the significance of supporting and protecting national products and adopting proactive measures to mitigate the repercussions of external developments and their impact on the domestic economy. Furthermore, he expressed the Council’s support for measures and legislation aimed at developing the trade sector and strengthening its role in serving the public interest.
