Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi met with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles, to discuss regional and international developments, ways to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between Iraq and Australia, and continued cooperation in combating terrorism and exchanging information.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Aboudi indicated during the meeting that Iraq maintains balanced relations with all countries, in a manner that serves the country’s best interests and enhances its international standing. He emphasized that Iraq is a safe and stable country and that the government of Ali Faleh al-Zaidi is playing a significant role in de-escalating tensions and reducing conflict in the region through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
He reiterated the Iraqi government’s commitment to supporting foreign investors and companies by providing the necessary facilities to ensure their success in Iraq.
For his part, the Australian Ambassador expressed his country’s support for the Iraqi government’s policies and reform program, noting his government’s support for Australian companies entering the Iraqi market.
