Al-Aboudi Leads Anti-Rumors Meeting with Key Security Officials


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi chaired a crucial meeting of the Anti-Rumors and Misinformation Cell, organized by the National Security Advisory. The gathering was attended by top military and security leaders, directors of media departments from various ministries and security institutions, and representatives from the Prime Minister’s office.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion focused on enhancing national discourse and the significance of developing a strategic media policy to counter rumors by providing factual information to the public. The meeting also covered several related topics and necessary recommendations for action.



During the meeting, al-Aboudi stressed the importance of providing the public with accurate information and tackling malicious propaganda and rumors spread through media channels linked to security agencies and institutions, due to their trusted position among citizens. He reiterated the National Security Advisory’s unwavering support for the media offices of ministries and government agencies to build and maintain public trust in state institutions.
