Baghdad: The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, met on Monday with the heads of the four presidencies to discuss measures aimed at ensuring the application of the law and the prosecution of individuals involved in corruption crimes.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council indicated that the meeting took place at Baghdad Palace. Present at the meeting were President Nizar Amidi, Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi, and Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi. The gathering focused on enhancing joint cooperation between different authorities.
The statement further elaborated that the discussions included various measures to ensure the enforcement of the law concerning financial and administrative corruption. In addition, the attendees reviewed a draft law proposed by the Council of Ministers, which aims to recover misappropriated funds.
