Media and Communications Commission Bans Mishaan al-Jubouri from Media for 90 Days

Baghdad: The Media and Communications Commission has announced a 90-day ban on politician Mishaan al-Jubouri from appearing on both local and foreign media outlets operating within Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission’s decision was influenced by its authority under Legislative Order No. (65) of 2004. This action was prompted by a report from the Media Regulation Department, which highlighted al-Jubouri’s participation in the “Dialogue at Nine” program on Al-Fallujah satellite channel. His appearance was criticized for its sectarian tone and for inciting hatred, which was deemed a violation of the Commission’s media broadcasting standards.

The Commission has clarified that the 90-day ban is effective immediately, and any media entities that host al-Jubouri during this period will face legal repercussions.
