Umm Al-Banin Library Completes Preparations for Permanent Book Fair Opening

Baghdad: The Umm al-Banin Library, affiliated with the Office of the Custodian of Women’s Affairs at the Holy Abbasid Shrine, has finalized all necessary arrangements for the opening of its permanent book fair at the Al-Afaf Women’s Complex. The launch of this event coincides with the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of the department, Ms. Asmahan Ibrahim, highlighted that the fair will showcase a diverse collection of books and publications covering religious, cultural, educational, and social fields. This initiative allows female visitors the opportunity to explore and select titles that align with their interests.

Ms. Ibrahim further elaborated that the fair is not limited to book displays and sales. It will also include cultural programs such as book reading sessions and cultural competitions, with prizes available for participants.

She emphasized the fair’s establishment underscores the significant role women play in building society, educating families, and shaping future generations. The department is committed to offering resources that enhance knowledge and foster intellectual development.

The exhibition is set to take place on the second floor of the Al-Afaf Women’s Complex and will officially open on Monday, the 31st of this month, aligning with the Prophet Muhammad’s birth anniversary.
