Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed on Tuesday the regional developments and ways to de-escalate tensions with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release that “Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed, during a telephone call with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, the developments in the region, in light of the escalating tensions and the serious repercussions on the security and stability of the region’s countries.”
The two sides stressed the importance of working to contain the escalation and return to the path of negotiations and dialogue in order to address disputes peacefully and prevent the expansion of tensions and their impact on the region’s security and stability.
Hussein emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two countries, as well as continued coordination with relevant countries regarding regional developments.
