Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi affirmed that security is inextricably linked to the development process adopted by the government. National Security Advisory stated in a press release: “Al-Aboudi chaired a meeting today, Tuesday, of the committee supporting security sector reform, with representatives from relevant ministries and security agencies in attendance.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added: “The committee discussed the achievements and challenges facing the security sector reform process and assessed performance levels to advance the implementation plans for reforming the security sector, given the paramount importance of this file in establishing security and stability in the country.”
During the meeting, al-Aboudi stressed the necessity of proceeding with the strategic plans for reforming the security system in all its aspects, emphasizing that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces attaches utmost importance to this sensitive file, which is included in the government program plan, to align with other program implementation tracks. He pointed out that security is inextricably linked to the development process adopted by the government at all levels.
