Baghdad: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf affirmed on Wednesday that Iraq is an important country in the region. Speaking at a press conference held at the site commemorating the martyrdom of the Victory Commanders in Baghdad, Ghalibaf emphasized the significance of Iraq, stating, “Iraq is an important country in the region, and our visit aims to discuss cooperation among the countries of the region without foreign interference.”
According to Iraqi News Agency, Ghalibaf highlighted the need for Islamic countries in the region to expand areas of cooperation and establish deep and sustainable relations. He pointed out that Iran is actively making efforts to foster such relationships. During his visit to Iraq, Ghalibaf plans to meet with a number of senior government officials to further discuss these collaborative initiatives.
