Baghdad: The Media and Communications Commission has taken decisive action by banning Sajjad Salem from appearing in the media for a duration of 90 days. This decision applies to all local and foreign media outlets operating within Iraq’s borders.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ban was imposed on charges of disseminating misleading information and insulting state institutions. Sajjad Salem, who was a former member of parliament representing the Imtidad Movement during the fifth parliamentary session, recently made controversial statements on a local television channel. He criticized state institutions and alleged that any official investigating the activities of Starlink International would face repercussions, including losing their position.

This decision underscores the commission’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of information disseminated through media channels and upholding respect for state institutions. The ban is expected to last for 90 days, during which Salem will not be allowed to participate in any media-related activities in Iraq.
