Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning engaged in discussions with the Malaysian Embassy in Baghdad on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation between the two nations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry revealed in a press release that Saher Abdul Kadhim Mahdi, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, and Maha Abdul Karim Al-Rawi, Director General of the Department of Human Development, held a meeting with Nirmal Chunmugam, Charg© d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy. The discussions focused on identifying priority areas for cooperation and seizing opportunities to expand the partnership between Iraq and Malaysia.
Both parties stressed the significance of activating cooperation channels and enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences between institutions in Iraq and Malaysia. This collaboration aims to establish partnerships and practical cooperation programs that align with Iraq’s developmental needs and priorities.
The Charg© d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy conveyed Malaysia’s readiness to fortify cooperation with Iraq, expressing the Malaysian government’s commitment to fostering bilateral relations that serve the common interests of both countries.
At the meeting’s conclusion, both sides affirmed their dedication to continued coordination and follow-up on proposed cooperation areas, setting the stage for practical frameworks to activate the Iraqi-Malaysian partnership in the forthcoming phase.
