US Central Command Alters Course of 65 Vessels Amid Iran Sanctions


Washington: The US Central Command announced on Wednesday that it has altered the course of 65 commercial vessels since the resumption of sanctions against Iran.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement on its “X” platform: “The guided-missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) is operating in international waters to enforce the US sanctions against Iran.”



It added: “As of August 19, US forces have altered the course of 65 commercial vessels, disabled 3 vessels, and inspected 2 vessels to ensure compliance.”
