Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to Submit 2027 Budget to Parliament Soon


Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi announced on Thursday that the government will soon submit the 2027 budget to Parliament. His media office stated in a press release that al-Zaidi met with members of the Sadiqun parliamentary bloc, headed by MP Uday Awad al-Tamimi. During the meeting, they discussed several national issues related to improving development and public services in all governorates, strengthening cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, and supporting the government’s efforts in implementing reforms and combating corruption.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of the legislative branch in supporting government procedures and enabling it to implement its program. He also stressed the importance of oversight and legislation in combating corruption through monitoring performance in state institutions. Al-Zaidi indicated that the government is currently preparing the 2027 budget, which will be sent to Parliament soon.



The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s plan to increase oil production and exports in the coming years, noting that significant resources have been allocated to the electricity sector in the budget. For his part, the head of the Sadiqun parliamentary bloc affirmed his bloc’s absolute support for the Prime Minister’s efforts and the government’s policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of combating corruption, achieving financial and administrative reform, prioritizing the country’s supreme national interest, and preserving its resources.
