Washington: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bisent announced on Thursday that his country will impose the harshest sanctions on Iran, leading to the collapse of the Iranian regime.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Bisent, speaking to CNBC, revealed plans to hold a press conference on Monday to discuss the impending measures targeting Iran. He emphasized that the intended “maximum economic pressure on Iran” signifies a decisive and irreversible strategy.
Bisent declared, “The Iranian regime will collapse, and we will bring it down,” indicating the severity of the upcoming sanctions. He further elaborated that Iran’s economic isolation is poised to become unprecedented, urging allies and nations worldwide to cease interactions with the Iranian regime.
Highlighting strategic control, Bisent mentioned the significance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which large volumes of oil are transported. He reiterated that the imposition of the harshest sanctions on Iran would ultimately lead to the regime’s downfall.
