Iraqi Scientific Academy President Engages in University System Workshop to Boost Economic Value


Baghdad: The President of the Iraqi Academy of Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al Yassin, participated in a workshop titled “Building a University System to Transform Knowledge into Economic Value.” This event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with Clarivate Analytics. Held at Al-Hakim Hall at the University of Baghdad, the workshop gathered a select group of university professors, researchers, and specialists.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the workshop focused on modern mechanisms for developing an integrated university system. This system aims to convert the outcomes of scientific research and innovation into sustainable economic value. Key areas of discussion included strengthening partnerships with productive sectors, developing technology transfer systems, and supporting entrepreneurship, university companies, and intellectual property management.



The workshop also delved into strategies for unifying efforts and enhancing cooperation between university institutions and economic sectors. This cooperation is seen as a way to support innovation, develop the national economy, and create an effective environment for transforming knowledge, scientific outputs, and university projects into initiatives with sustainable economic returns that benefit society.
