Protesters Shut Down Wasit Parliament Building Over Electricity Crisis


Baghdad: Protesters in Kut, the capital of Wasit Governorate, have closed the provincial parliament building in protest against the deteriorating electricity situation. They are demanding that the relevant authorities respond to their demands and improve power supply hours.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, this move is part of escalating protests demanding a solution to the electricity crisis and an increase in the governorate’s power allocation. The closure of the parliament building is amidst ongoing demonstrations in Kut.
