Samsunspor secured their first victory of the season after a thrilling 3-3 draw against G¶ztepe in the opening round, bringing their total to four points and moving them into second place on goal difference behind Galatasaray. Rizespor, on the other hand, remain on three points, earned from their win against Konyaspor in the first round.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Samsunspor finished the first half with a 1-0 lead, thanks to a goal by Swedish player Josfat Mendez in the 34th minute, who fired a left-footed shot from inside the penalty area after a pass from Gambian player Saikouba Jarju. In the second half, Gargo continued his impressive performance, providing his second assist of the match to his Turkish teammate Fatih Kaya, who added Samsunspor’s second goal in the 63rd minute with a low, driven shot from outside the penalty area to the goalkeeper’s right.
In another match, Kasimpasa secured a valuable 1-0 victory over their hosts, ‡orumspor, with the Polish striker Adrian Benediczak scoring the only goal in the sixth minute. The goal came after Benediczak broke free from midfield, capitalizing on a pass from Brazilian Claudio Winck, before unleashing a powerful right-footed shot that found the back of the net. Kasimpasa moved up to third place with four points, level on points with Galatasaray and Samsunspor but behind on goal difference, while ‡orumspor remained on one point.
