Bharatpur: The Apna Ghar shelter in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India, has achieved a Guinness World Record as the largest shelter for homeless women, housing 3,295 residents who receive shelter, treatment, psychological care, food, and clothing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the shelter was founded on June 29, 2000, by social workers Dr. B.M. Bhardwaj and his wife, Dr. Madhuri Bhardwaj. Apna Ghar extends its services to various segments of society, including the elderly, the injured, the homeless, and individuals suffering from mental illness. The facility provides continuous care and works towards the rehabilitation and reintegration of its residents with their families whenever possible.
