Baghdad: The General Company for Land Transport announced on Sunday that it had transported more than 24,000 tons of local wheat in ten days, under an internal transport contract with the Ministry of Trade.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company stated in a press release: “Our fleet was able to transport more than 24,000 tons of local wheat in ten days, under an internal transport contract with the Ministry of Trade, to secure the items included in the ration card and meet citizens’ needs for food supplies.”
The company added: “The company’s trucks completed the transport of 24,000 tons in 578 trips, from the Anbar Governorate warehouses in Ana to the Khan Dhari warehouses.” The company emphasized that it “represents a fundamental pillar for state ministries and institutions, and is committed to executing its contracts with them accurately and safely,” calling on governmental and non-governmental institutions to utilize the company’s fleet for various transport operations, which contributes to supporting the national economy.
