Tehran: Pakistan is acting as a conduit for US diplomatic messages to Iran in an effort to restart negotiations. The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir is scheduled to visit Tehran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry confirmed in a press release that Munir will arrive in Tehran on Monday accompanied by an official delegation. During his visit, he is expected to meet with senior Iranian officials and convey messages from the United States to Iranian authorities. This visit is part of Pakistan’s initiatives to promote peace and security in the region.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Munir’s visit aims to break the current diplomatic deadlock and revitalize stalled negotiations. Before the announcement of the visit, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a phone conversation with Munir on Saturday, where they discussed pressing regional issues.
