Beirut: The Lebanese National News Agency reported on Sunday that “the Israeli army carried out a large bombing in the town of Haddatha, which belongs to the Bint Jbeil district in southern Lebanon.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, “The bombings targeted the towns of Haddatha, Beit Yahoun, and Aita al-Jabal, coinciding with gunfire directed towards the surrounding valleys.” The report further explained that “Al-Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and Beit al-Sayyad were subjected to shelling and bombings,” noting that “the ongoing destruction left no house in Beit al-Sayyad undamaged. This comes as part of a wave of Israeli operations witnessed in southern Lebanon during the past hours, which included airstrikes, artillery shelling, demolition operations, and sweeps with machine guns.”

The Lebanese National News Agency noted that “the Israeli army did not issue an immediate comment regarding the target of the latest bombing.” However, Israel confirmed that “its operations in southern Lebanon aim to destroy Hezbollah’s military infrastructure and prevent it from redeploying near the border.”

The operations continue despite the signing of a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, brokered by the United States, on June 26, which stipulates the disarmament of armed groups, the deployment of the Lebanese army in the south, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces. Beirut demands a complete Israeli withdrawal, while Israel links the redeployment of its forces to the disarmament of Hezbollah and the Lebanese army assuming control of the southern regions.
