Baghdad: The Parliamentary Human Rights Committee convened a dialogue meeting with representatives from government institutions and civil society organizations to discuss a draft law aimed at regulating minority rights. The session focused on enacting the legislation within the current parliamentary term.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting underscored the significance of the proposed law in reinforcing equality and justice. The law aims to safeguard cultural, religious, and national diversity and foster peaceful coexistence among society’s various components. Participants emphasized the necessity of legal provisions to ensure the protection of all citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms.
