Basra: A number of newly appointed heads of administrative units in Basra took the constitutional oath ceremony today, Sunday, before the President of the Basra Court of Appeals, Judge Adel Abdul Razzaq. This event marked the completion of the procedures for their official appointment and the commencement of their duties after being voted on by the Provincial Council. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Basra, Maher Al-Amiri.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Amiri stated in a press release: “This ceremony comes within the framework of completing the official procedures for the new officials to assume their administrative duties and to strengthen institutional work in the administrative units, which will contribute to addressing citizens’ needs and improving the level of services provided to them.”

He emphasized the importance of the new heads of administrative units fulfilling their legal and administrative responsibilities, working to follow up on service-related matters, and coordinating with government departments and relevant authorities, in line with the requirements of the next phase and the needs of the residents of their areas.

The ceremony included the swearing-in of the new officials, marking the beginning of their official duties in managing the administrative units affiliated with Basra Governorate.
