Baghdad: During his hosting of the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, the Governor of Kirkuk emphasized the importance of the development path and supported the Prime Minister’s directives. Kirkuk Governor Mohammed Saman Agha emphasized the importance of securing the “Development Road” route, which begins in Basra and passes through Mosul and Sinjar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a speech he delivered at the conference, Saman Agha called for the federal forces to assert their authority and control over these areas to ensure the success and smooth operation of the development road. He explained that the initiative to rotate the governorship among the province’s various communities represents a successful national initiative, stressing the importance of the Council of Representatives legally adopting it to guarantee its continuation and implementation in other provinces.

Saman Agha stated that the presence of diverse communities in Kirkuk is a source of strength. He added that the current focus is on the necessity of finding alternatives for oil exports and not relying on a single source, pointing to vital projects that will make Kirkuk an energy hub.

He mentioned that work is underway to renew the agreement, and the goal is to increase export capacity from 750,000 barrels per day to more than one million barrels, in cooperation with BP to develop the fields.
