Basra: The Basra Directorate of Education announced a resolution to the salary crisis affecting the remaining 38,000 contract employees, paving the way for their disbursement next week. This follows the resolution of several issues and procedures related to the matter.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate’s media office stated in a press release that discussions and follow-ups continued for several hours at the Ministry of Finance. These discussions were attended by the head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, MP Uday Awad, the Director General of Basra Education, Abdul-Razzaq Faisal Abdul-Hamid, the Director of the Financial Affairs Department, Munaf Adnan Hashim, and the Salaries Officer, Alaa Jaber Al-Barrak. The meetings focused on the procedures undertaken by the Directorate concerning the contract employees.

The statement added that the Ministry of Finance was satisfied with the validity of the procedures implemented by the Basra Education Directorate and confirmed compliance w
ith established regulations. This contributed to overcoming obstacles and completing the procedures for disbursing the remaining 38,000 contract employees’ salaries, which are expected to begin next week.
