Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaged in a telephone conversation with Brazilian President Luiz In¡cio Lula da Silva and Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing regional and international issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications reported that Erdogan and President Lula discussed the ongoing development of Turkish-Brazilian relations, which have been established for two decades. Erdogan emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation in areas such as investment, trade, and defense industries, suggesting that these efforts could establish a model of economic cooperation beneficial to both nations amid global protectionist tendencies. Erdogan also highlighted the importance of Turkey and Brazil’s policies prioritizing peace, contributing to global security and stability.

In a separate conversation, Erdogan congratulated Prime Minister Sinkevicius on his new role and expressed optimism about the future growth of Turkey-Lithuania relations. Erdogan underscored the necessity for increased dialogue between the two nations, particularly in the defense sector. He also reiterated Turkey’s commitment to achieving lasting peace in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and extended his best wishes to Lithuania for its upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union.
