Diwaniyah: The Diwaniyah Agriculture Directorate convened a crucial meeting led by the Director of Agriculture, Haider Ali Al-Mahna, with the participation of heads of various agricultural departments and divisions. The meeting focused on preparations for the ambitious “Diwaniyah, Capital of Iraq” project, aiming to compile a comprehensive dossier showcasing the agricultural resources and potential of the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Director Haider Al-Mahna emphasized the discussion of Diwaniyah Governorate’s agricultural strengths, such as its expansive agricultural lands, abundant water resources, and robust plant and animal production sectors. He highlighted that these attributes, along with the region’s exceptional agricultural expertise, position Diwaniyah as a prime candidate to become Iraq’s agricultural capital.

The meeting also featured the presentation and deliberation of several agricultural proposals and projects designed to bolster the governorate’s capabilities. These initiatives include enhancements in plant and animal production, the promotion of modern irrigation projects, and strategic investments in agricultural lands to support Diwaniyah’s bid in becoming the agricultural capital of Iraq.
