Liverpool: Liverpool continued their shaky start to the English Premier League season, managing only a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, postponing their first win of the campaign. Liverpool now have two points from two matches, following two consecutive draws in their opening game under manager Andoni Iraola, who is in his first season with the club.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Nottingham Forest took the lead in the 24th minute through Dane N’Doye, while a first-half goal by Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz was disallowed for offside. The home side equalized an hour into the match when Alexander Isak converted a low cross from Cody Gakpo. Nottingham Forest regained the lead in the 70th minute through Morgan Gibbs-White’s penalty, before substitute Victor Mu±oz rescued Liverpool from defeat by scoring the equalizer in the 82nd minute, on his first start for the club.
Mu±oz received the ball on the edge of the penalty area, turned, and unleashed a powerful shot that crashed against the crossbar and into the net, securing a valuable point for his team. With this draw, Liverpool continues its search for its first league win of the season, having finished fifth last season.
