Al-Zawraa Crushes Zakho with Four Goals in Iraqi Stars League


Basra: Al-Zawraa thrashed Zakho 4-0 in a match held this evening at Al-Zawraa Stadium as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Stars League. Al-Zawraa’s dominant performance saw them take an early lead and maintain control throughout the game.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zawraa took the lead with their first goal through Mohammed Qasim in the 18th minute. The team’s momentum continued as Hiran Ahmed doubled the advantage in the 37th minute. Hiran returned to score his second and Al-Zawraa’s third goal in the 52nd minute. The scoring was completed by Hassan Abdul Karim, who struck the fourth goal in the 60th minute.



The match also saw disciplinary actions, with Shivan Jamil being sent off in the 69th minute after receiving a red card. In a tense final moment, international player Amjad Atwan was dismissed in the final minute of stoppage time. Despite these setbacks, Al-Zawraa secured a comprehensive victory, leaving them at the top of the league standings.



With this win, Al-Zawraa raised their points tally to 8, securing first place, while Zakho’s points remained at 4, placing them in thirteenth position.
