Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is set to organize the fifth edition of the ‘Arabic and Creative Industries Congress’ next month. Scheduled for September 20 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the congress will focus on the theme ‘Arabic as a Civilizational Structure: Identity, Knowledge, and Economic Power in the Digital Age.’

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the event will gather experts, decision-makers, and researchers to discuss the future of the Arabic language. The congress aims to highlight the language’s role in supporting the creative economy and enhancing its status amidst digital transformations. By doing so, it seeks to establish the language as a key component of identity, a system for knowledge production, and a field for innovation and economic value.

The congress will explore ways to use the Arabic language as a driver for cultural and economic development. This includes developing creative industries, strengthening intellectual property systems, and advancing Arabic language technologies to align with advancements in artificial intelligence and digital technology. It aims to create opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, and knowledge institutions in the Arab world and beyond.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of the congress in advancing creativity. He noted Abu Dhabi’s commitment to building institutions and platforms that foster creativity and transform it into a productive force and sustainable cultural and economic value. This vision is realized through an integrated system, starting with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, stressed the Arabic language’s significance as a civilizational pillar that preserves identity and produces knowledge. He highlighted its historical role in building civilizations and its potential to contribute to the knowledge economy and technological transformation.

The congress will feature a range of dialogue sessions, training workshops, and presentations. Notable speakers include Anne-Claire Legendre, President of the Arab World Institute, who will discuss the Arabic language’s status as a vibrant and evolving creative force.
