Sulaymaniyah: An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Kalar district of Sulaimaniyah Governorate. The Seismological Monitoring Department of the Iraqi Meteorological Organization announced the occurrence of this seismic event.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the earthquake was detected approximately 5 km northwest of the city of Kalar in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The earthquake was felt in areas near its epicenter. The organization provided this information in a press release dated Saturday, August 29, 2026.
